Vivid Abstractions

Equipment

Guitar:
IBANEZ GRG170DX-BKN

  • It's a great, low-budget, starter guitar.
  • Flat neck which is good for beginners.
  • Bridge Humbucker gives a crispy distorted sound.
  • Middle Single-Coil is great for clean sound.
  • Neck Humbucker has a more low-end sound for sweeping/arpeggios.
  • Pickups fit all kind of music styles decently.
  • Tremolo system does not stay well in tune and is very limited. I locked mine.
  • Pickup wiring partially visible.

Pedals:
ELECTRO HARMONIX METAL MUFF

I did not like my distortion sound on my Spider III before because it sounded very dull. With this it sounds amazing. Nice low end with clean highs. Top Boost is neat but not necessary. This is for metal and upwards. Even with Distortion at 0 the sound is still too distorted for a crunchy sound (in my opinion).  Otherwise, best distortion pedal out there!

Amp:
LINE6 SPIDER III 15W

Decent practice/bedroom amp. Can get loud but the quality suffers. Not very clear with loud clean sound. I disliked the Distortion on it (read above). Very good for the price though, I would have gotten more power though with more money.

Recording Equip:
LINE6 STUDIO GX

Beautiful GUI and the quality of the sound is good as well. Everything works fine on my Vista 64-bit. Can even take the Line6 POD sounds and import them (.l6t files). Takes some time to get the right sound but the possibilities are endless!
